Beirut, LEBANON – June 4, 2026 – In a shared effort to elevate project management capabilities across academia and industry, the LAU Adnan Kassar School of Business (LAU AKSOB) and Project Management Institute (PMI) have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership brings together one of Lebanon’s national and regional leader in educational innovation and the world’s leading authority on project management to drive innovation, professional development, and global best practices across the Middle East and North Africa region.
The MoU, facilitated by the PMI Lebanon Chapter Board and Associate Professor of Management at the Lebanese American University, Mira Thoumy Ghanem, was signed by Dr. Dima R. Jamali, Dean of the Adnan Kassar School of Business at LAU, and Hanny Alshazly, Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa at Project Management Institute, represented by Dania Chaar, Chapter Engagement Specialist for the MENA region at PMI, in the presence of the president of PMI Lebanon Chapter Riam Chazbeck, outlines a comprehensive collaboration to strengthen career readiness and institutional excellence in an increasingly digital and project-driven world.
The aim of this partnership is to strengthen collaboration between Project Management Institute and Lebanese American University to advance project management education, professional development, and industry engagement across the university community. Through this partnership, PMI will support LAU with enhanced access to globally recognized learning resources, certifications, and online training opportunities through a co-branded digital platform designed to enrich the learning and credentialing journey of students and employees. In turn, LAU will foster greater engagement in project management education by encouraging membership and certification pathways, supporting student and faculty collaboration with PMI initiatives, and facilitating activities and events that promote knowledge sharing, leadership development, and professional growth within the broader project management community.
The partnership will also encourage collaboration between the PMI Chapter Student Club and LAU student clubs and faculty to promote project management activities and create a more connected and collaborative learning environment on campus.
