The inauguration of IRCAD America marked a historic milestone with the opening of a state-of-the-art, $3 billion facility in Charlotte. The event gathered the presidents of all IRCAD centers worldwide, including those from Taiwan, Brazil, and France, and was highlighted by the signing of a charter reaffirming that the reference for all IRCAD activities globally remains IRCAD France.
Among the distinguished attendees was Dr. Antoine Maalouf, President of IRCAD Lebanon and CEO of Hôpital Français du Levant, representing Lebanon at this international gathering. During the ceremony, two Lebanese doctors and businessmen in attendance were moved to see Lebanon represented on such a global stage and rushed to greet Dr. Maalouf with pride and enthusiasm.
“It was an immense honor to stand alongside my colleagues from across the world and represent Lebanon at such a remarkable event. The presence of IRCAD Lebanon among this global network is a source of great pride for our country. It reflects not only Lebanon’s commitment to advancing surgical education and innovation, but also our determination to remain part of the international medical community. I look forward to welcoming our partners to Lebanon soon, and to hosting a major conference once circumstances allow.” Dr. Antoine Maalouf said.
Looking ahead, plans are already being discussed for an important international medical conference to be held in Beirut, possibly by December, as conditions continue to improve.
