The exhibition, which launched on August 21st raises funds for CHANCE, supporting life-saving treatment and therapy for children battling cancer
Wadi 99 Art Gallery and renowned artist Valerie Ghoussaini have successfully concluded the opening of the exhibition “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, which launched on August 21, 2025, in Beirut. The exhibition, which will run until September 21, 2025, drew an engaged audience of art lovers, collectors, philanthropists, and cultural leaders, all united by a shared commitment to turn creativity into meaningful action.
The show features works from Ghoussaini’s celebrated Girlfriends series (2009–present) and her Women of Power and Interest series (Venice Biennale, 2017). More than an artistic display, the exhibition channels the power of art into advocacy: 100% of proceeds are being donated to CHANCE (Children Against Cancer), a Lebanese nonprofit founded in 2002 that provides comprehensive medical care, life-saving medication, and vital psychosocial and art therapy for children battling cancer and blood disorders.
“Art is a vehicle for activism. This exhibition shows how creativity can extend beyond the canvas, carrying with it the power to inspire, mobilize, and directly support those in need. Through Valerie’s work, art becomes more than expression, it becomes action,” said the Owner of Wadi 99 Art Gallery.
The opening night highlighted not only Ghoussaini’s vibrant artistry but also the solidarity of the community. Guests, collectors, and supporters came together to transform appreciation of art into tangible contributions for children in urgent need of care.
“Our gratitude goes to Valerie Ghoussaini, for her artistic generosity; to CHANCE, for their unwavering dedication to vulnerable children; and to the guests and supporters whose participation turns art into advocacy,” added the Owner of Wadi 99 Art Gallery
“Girls Just Want to Have Fun” runs through September 21, 2025, at Wadi 99 Art Gallery, giving the public further opportunity to experience how each brushstroke supports hope, each story inspires change, and each sale contributes directly to children’s treatment and recovery.
