Nathalie Khayat | Ceramics
Boesky Gallery Aspen
August 7 – September 4
616 E Hyman Ave, Aspen, CO 81611
Khayat’s profound exploration of clay’s intrinsic qualities gives rise to artworks that evoke the organic essence of stoneware. Her pieces, with their alluring, flowing shapes akin to sea coral, emerge from the artist’s intriguing dance with accidents and serendipity.
Khayat’s stoneware vessels, including serving bowls, candle holders, and vases, defy expectations by reimagining the delicate nature of her chosen medium. Through her work, Khayat captures the dichotomies of the natural world—balancing violence and tranquility, growth and decay, life and demise—unveiling an exquisite journey into the unknown realms of ceramics.
At House of Today, we are dedicated to fostering the design scene through scholarships and residences, as well as connecting Lebanese designers and ceramists with globally renowned galleries, museums and foundations.
Nathalie Khayat was born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1966. She lives and works between Beirut and Montreal and has been teaching ceramics in her Beirut Studio from the year 2000 to the present day.
