Czech Tourism, August 21, 2025: This autumn, Prague’s National Museum will unveil a historic exhibition that brings together two of the most significant fossils in human history — Lucy, the 3.2-million-year-old hominid, and Selam, her even older counterpart by 100,000 years.
On loan from the National Museum of Ethiopia, this marks the first time these iconic specimens will be displayed together in Europe, offering visitors a rare and profound glimpse into the origins of humankind. Set within the museum’s majestic historic building, the exhibition is designed in the immersive style European institutions are renowned for, transforming scientific discovery into an engaging and deeply human experience.
Travellers from the Middle East seeking immersive and meaningful experiences will find a compelling opportunity in Prague this season. A visit to the Lucy and Selam exhibition at the National Museum, from 25 August to 25 October 2025, offers a powerful journey into human origins through two of the world’s most significant archaeological discoveries.
Surrounding this landmark exhibition, visitors can delve into Prague’s rich cultural landscape — beginning with heritage walks across the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and Prague Castle, each steeped in centuries of history. For those drawn to contemporary culture, the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art and local design boutiques offer a modern Czech perspective.
Culinary enthusiasts can enjoy curated dining experiences that blend traditional Czech flavors with international influences, while shopping at Fashion Arena Prague Outlet provides access to premium European brands.
Whether exploring vibrant neighborhoods, attending live music events, or relaxing on a Vltava River cruise, this itinerary transforms a museum visit into a multi-sensory journey — one that connects travellers not only to the roots of humanity, but also to the heart of Czech culture.
