Beirut, 24th February 2021 – Huawei Consumer Business Group (BG) today announced the launch of HUAWEI Y8s, a new HUAWEI Y Series device equipped with a 48 MP AI Dual Camera system. The powerful dual camera supports 48MP image output that enables super high resolution shots with fine details. The new Y Series smartphone also features a class-leading Night Mode for capturing clear photos in low-light conditions. Equipped with a 4000mAh battery[1] and the Kirin 710F processor, the HUAWEI Y8s comes with long lasting performance for all-day use. The HUAWEI Y8s is now available on shelves in the Lebanese market
Capture everything around you with two cameras on each side
The HUAWEI Y8s features a rear dual-camera system that includes a 48MP main camera and a 2MP Depth Camera. The main camera is fitted with a 1/2-inch sensor and a f/1.8 wide aperture lens for capturing stunning photos any time of day. Users can also take advantage of the Depth Camera to simulate a shallow depth-of-field effect and highlight subjects on portraits.
The large main camera sensor allows for improved brightness on shots taken in low light. Furthermore, the latest HUAWEI Y8s also supports Handheld Night Mode, which leverages AI to optimise low light performance. This feature supports up to six-second exposure with AI noise reduction and stabilisation to extend dynamic range and boost detail on photos taken in dim environments. Portrait mode on HUAWEI Y8s lets users capture their best sides easily by offering a smart 3D beautification solution that is tailored to each user. A range of blurred light effects such as Hearts and Swirls, as well as butterfly lighting and other portrait lightings are available for a fancy twist. Additionally, Master AI on the HUAWEI Y8s recognises more than 500 scenes across 21 categories and offers targeted optimisations for users to easily obtain frame-worthy photos.
Designed to be a competent vlog shooter, HUAWEI Y8s supports Electronic Image Stabilisation (EIS) in videos to compensate for camera shakes, resulting in smooth images.
The HUAWEI Y8s is also excels at taking selfies with its front dual-camera system, which includes an 8MP main camera and a 2MP Depth Camera. Leveraging the powerful camera hardware, it supports real-time bokeh simulation that produces a progressive blurring effect that separates the subject from the background. AI noise reduction enables it to support a range of lighting conditions, so users can focus on act of taking the selfie and not hunting for the ideal light source.
Stunning display fitted to an ergonomic enclosure
The 6.5-inch HUAWEI FullView Display takes advantage of the In-Cell and Chip on Flex (COF) technology to support a Full HD+ resolution of 2340×1080 for displaying all kinds of content with clear details and vivid colours. With a peak brightness of 450 nits, the HUAWEI Y8s can be used and display text and image with clarity even under bright light. The display also comes with an Eye Protection mode, certified by TUV Rheinland that filters out harmful blue light.
Despite having a large screen, the HUAWEI Y8s weighs only 180g and measures just 8.15mm thick. The 3D curved arc design ensures a comfortable hold, while the rear fingerprint scanner can be used to unlock the device in as little as 0.35 seconds[2]. Designed to be simple and elegant, the latest HUAWEI Y8s is available in two colours – Midnight Black and Emerald Green, with both variants featuring delicate nanotexture on the back to produce a special glare visual effect.

Powered by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage expandable to 512GB, the HUAWEI Y8s ensures smooth performance even under heavy loads. The smartphone is powered by a big 4000mAh battery (Typical value) provides up to 50 hours of call time, 42 hours of music playback, 7.6 hours of video playback or 11 hours of continuous gaming[3]. This is complemented by a 10W charger and AI Power Management 7.0, for more efficient performance.
At its heart lies the Kirin 710F, the HUAWEI Y8s offers exceptional value and efficiency. Together with the EMUI 9.1, the HUAWEI Y8s offers a smooth user experience across all scenarios. The Extendable Read-Only File System (EROFS) converts system files into read-only files and compresses them for 20 per cent faster random read/write speed plus providing up to about 2GB of extra storage.[4] GPU Turbo 3.0 on EMUI 9.1 boosts gaming performance and picture quality in 85 popular gaming titles, delivering a smooth and battery efficient gaming experience. Simple mode greatly streamlines the interface with larger icons and font sizes to deliver a more intuitive experience to users.
