- Free Fire fans can look forward to playing as Mohamed Ramadan’s in-game character and win some exclusive and rare rewards
Dubai, 06 May 2021: To mark the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, Garena today extended gratitude to its fans across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, with the launch of several in-game events that will make the gaming experience more enjoyable for Free Fire players.
From 3rd to 16th May, players across the region will be able to claim exclusive rewards and prizes by simply putting their skills to the test in a series of missions that will bring the MENA Free Fire community together.
Players in the region will be able to select the character ‘Maro’ – the in-game character of Arab megastar Mohamed Ramadan. The popular Egyptian actor and singer was recently unveiled as Free Fire’s first playable Arab character and to celebrate this milestone, ‘Maro’ can be selected by players until 15th May.
Hans Saleh, Head of Garena MENA, said: “To mark the festive occasion of Eid, we have introduced a series of in-game events intended to be enjoyed by our players. Our team has put in plenty of energy and creativity into developing these challenging and fun in-game events that have been specifically designed for the MENA region and with many rewards up for grabs as well as the chance to play as Mohamed Ramadan’s character – ‘Maro’.”
Between 3rd to 9th May, every player that logs into the in-game event will have an opportunity to win special prizes. As well as being able to see Mohamed Ramadan’s in-game character background and watch his special live-action video, players will also be able to unlock and play as ‘Maro’ for free by completing a certain number of missions.
During the week of Eid Al Fitr between 8th to 16th May, Garena will be making wishes come true for players in the region. As part of the ‘Eid Special Wish’ in-game event, players taking part will be guaranteed the grand prize of their selected choice for completing missions during the eight days. They will be able to win four prizes as well as the Grand Prize – the Fearless Warrior Bundle and a character skin.
Hans added: “We understand the importance of the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr which is celebrated by millions of people in the region. I also would like to send my best wishes to everyone celebrating the end of Ramadan and the Eid Al Fitr. We hope our players can embrace the spirit of Ramadan and utilize the holy month as a time for family, devotion, kindness, and self-improvement, and enjoy this celebration while still following safety protocols.”
MENA players will also have one last opportunity to test themselves in the Ramadan Journey in-game event, which takes place from 10th to 16th May. Players can earn tons of exclusive Ramadan prizes with the new missions being released during this period.
On Friday 07th May, players will be in for a treat with Garena making the Magic Cube, one of the game’s most valuable and rare items, available for everyone to obtain. For players to get their hands on the Magic Cube, they simply need to play and claim as many shards as possible. The shards, which can be accumulated to a certain amount can then be exchanged for the Magic Cube.
The new in-game events come at a time where many Free Fire players in the region are currently participating in a series of Ramadan in-game events which are part of Garena’s
on-going efforts to enhance the gaming experience.
Players in the MENA region can download Free Fire on their smartphones by visiting the Apple iOS App and Google Play stores.
