- Abdullah, Hediyat and their daughter Aseel Ben Abbas have been playing the game together for two years.
Dubai, 02 February 2021: The Al-Abdullah household from Algeria has shared their experiences on how Free Fire has brought a father, wife and daughter closer while creating memorable experiences.
Having played the game together for two years, Abdullah, his wife Hediyat, and their daughter Aseel have become avid fans of Free Fire, which is now an integral part of their everyday lives.
The enjoyable experiences that they have shared have made them understand the importance of family values, improve their wellbeing and decision-making, and learn new aspects of life.
The family’s passion for Free Fire was first sparked by Abdullah, who has enjoyed playing video games since he was young. Introduced to Free Fire three years ago, his affection for the game grew rapidly, and regularly plays alongside and against his family and friends. He also made new friends who he had never met before across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Abdullah said: “The more time I played Free Fire, not only was I getting better and enjoyed it more, but I was also connecting with people in Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, and Syria. This was unique because you don’t make friends unless seeing them in person. But over time, we grew closer as we played against each other frequently.”
With Abdullah enjoying playing Free Fire, he later influenced his wife Hediyat to try out the game. After experiencing difficulties in the early stages, she quickly got to grips and now loves the challenges of Free Fire.
Hediyat, who has been playing for two years, said: “I was really intrigued to find out what Free Fire was as Abdullah was playing the game and often talked about it to his friends. He was always happy when he played the game, so this made me more curious to download it. I am glad I did this because after Abdullah helped train me, I learned the positive impacts it can have.
“For example, I understood the importance of teamwork when playing with Abdullah and being patient to achieve the objectives. This is the same as what we do in real life as to achieve a goal, you need to be patient and need help from your life partner. It also helps you explore different aspects of gaming that can help you become better individuals.”
Their daughter Aseel also took an interest in Free Fire and now plays only after her homework is completed.
Abdullah said: “At first, we were both hesitant whether she should be playing especially at a young age and in the early days she was playing a lot during the school term. However, we decided she would only be given her phone to play with once she finishes her homework. As parents, we want her to realise her ambitions and strive to be a wonderful and strong person in the future.
“Free Fire has brought out the best of her as an individual as she is more focused than before due to the game being challenging.”
As well as providing fun experiences, mobile gaming also offers cognitive benefits for gamers such as improving their co-ordination, concentration, and social skills and enhancing their memory.
Putting these attributes and skills into daily use has helped millions of people who have turned to indoor entertainment and adhere to government regulations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Abdullah believes there is a huge potential for gaming in the future and has urged families in the MENA region to consider playing Free Fire and see for themselves why it is so enjoyable.
He said: “At a time when we were forced to change our everyday lives to deal with staying at home more often, playing Free Fire has allowed us to have fun while also spending quality time as a family. We have created many memorable experiences that we will cherish for a long time. Gaming and particularly Free Fire will go from strength to strength and I hope more families in the MENA region can be part of this journey and see the positive impact it can have, just like how it has done for us.”
Bonding over games, the family dynamic improves for the better as it creates memories that will last a lifetime.
