Dr. Nasser Chammaa, Chairman of Solidere, welcomed attendees with words that underscored the site’s enduring importance:
“Today we stand once again in this place that has always been, and will remain, a symbol of unity and heritage, a center where Lebanese people come together through commerce, culture, and social exchange. Beirut Souks is not merely an architectural or commercial project; it is a living testament to the city’s resilience and the unwavering will of its people to rise, no matter the challenges.”

“Lebanon today sends a clear message to the world: that the path to addressing our economic and social challenges has begun, and that the era of genuine recovery and reconstruction is advancing with confidence and purpose.”
Mr. Tony Salame, Chairman of Aïshti Group, opened his speech by declaring,
“As long as the heart of Lebanon, its capital, Beirut, keeps beating with resilience, we are more than fine.”
Reflecting on the history of Beirut Souks, he highlighted the project’s remarkable journey through challenges and achievements.
“We, the Lebanese, at home and across the diaspora, belong among the world’s most resilient peoples. We have shown an extraordinary capacity to persevere through imposed wars and crises, driven by nothing but our longing for peace, stability, and dignified living.”
Mr. Wassim Daher, Chairman of Azadea Group, added:
“After all that Beirut has endured, we stand here together witnessing her heartbeat return: strong, vibrant, and full of hope. Our celebration today, Beirut Souks Reborn, is more than an event; it is a symbol of Beirut’s revival and the beginning of a new chapter in the story of a city that lives in every Lebanese heart. Beirut Souks has always been, and will remain, the beating heart of the capital, embodying its energy, vitality, and unyielding love for life.”
In closing, Beirut Mayor Mr. Ibrahim Zeidan delivered a stirring message:
“We gather today in a moment filled with meaning and determination. Reopening Beirut Souks marks not only a return to the city’s historical and economic roots but also a collective act of defiance against despair. He urged Lebanese citizens and international investors alike: “The opportunity before you is real; be part of this revival. Invest in Beirut. Help restore life to its heart. Beirut deserves it, and so do its people.”
