Beirut, October 5, 2017 – Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO), the world’s largest entrepreneurial and financial empowerment initiative, recently announced the appointment of the Middle East and North Africa country ambassadors for 2017. The WED ambassadors are appointed in a voluntary position representing over 144 countries worldwide in an effort to support, empower and celebrate women entrepreneurs on every continent.
Women’s Entrepreneurship Day ambassadors are appointed and signed on for a period of three years working together under the supervision of a regional ambassador as part of the WEDO global strategy set by Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Founder, President and World Ambassador Wendy Diamond. The Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Middle East and North Africa ambassadors for 2017 – 2019 include:

The WED MENA ambassadors will be launching a series of initiatives and campaigns in support of entrepreneurial development and support for women in the MENA region. Established entrepreneurs and leading businesswomen in their fields, each ambassador brings a host of experience and opportunity for innovation and development for women entrepreneurs.

November 19th – which marks the global celebration and observance of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day – will serve as a launch pad for ideas and business opportunities for the community as a whole. Celebrating, supporting and empowering women is vital for business and communities to flourish and grow,” commented Sarah Al Ayed, WED Regional Ambassador for the Middle East and North Africa. “Today we come together as a network to achieve success to help and support female entrepreneurs everywhere.”
The ambassadors have been working diligently to create events simultaneously with WED’s annual event which will take place on Friday, November 17th at the United Nations in New York City. Everyone will come together to join WED’s mission in alleviating poverty by empowering, celebrating and supporting women in business worldwide.

The November 17 WEDO event will be hosted at the Delegates Dining room at the United Nations witnessing an inspiring speaker line up including: Goldi Hawn (Academy Award Winning Actress and Founder of the Hawn Foundation), Bobbi Brown (CEO Beauty Evolution) HE Ambassador Lizzy Flores (Honduras Ambassador to the UN), Lucy Jarvis (First woman Television Producer and Peabody Award Winner), Rachel Gerrol (Co-Founder Nexus Global Youth Summit), Randi Zuckerberg (Founder and CEO Zuckerberg Media), Tao Porchon Lynch (Guinness World Record Oldest Yoga Instructor), Amir Dossal (Founder and Chairman Global Partnerships Forum) among others.
With great success achieved as part of the MENA regions Women’s Entrepreneurship Day initiatives in 2016 that included: educational support for Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Jordan, launching budding entrepreneurial initiatives for under privileged young ladies including a training program for refugees in refugee camps, the work return-ship training program for women a pilot program launched in Jordan, a mentorship program for women with a reach out to over 50,000 young ladies and students across the region.
