Beirut, June 22, 2016: Within the framework of the National Initiative, Civic Influence Hub will launch, and after three open discussions with civil society associations on 27/1/2016, economic stakeholders on 3/3/2016, and the liberal professions’ syndicates on 19/4/2016, revolving around three topics: the major problems Lebanon suffers from, the prioritized reforms to address these problems, and the proposed mechanisms of joint actions, the first round table on Monday 28/6/2016 at Hotel Monroe. The Round Table will gather about 35 distinguished Lebanese Citizens, qualified for their integrity, efficiency, and arduous national commitment. The members of the Round table will make use of their specialized intellectual depth, knowledge and expertise in the constitutional, legal, political, diplomatic, economic, social, and cultural sciences to deliberate together, after reviewing the results of the outcome of the first three open discussions-which will be supplemented soon by meetings with student associations, municipal unions, the media, the titles which were issued from these results, the Constitution, the State, and co-existence.
The round table will be opened with a welcome speech for the Civic Influence Hub, followed by the display of the open discussions’ results.
After the horizontal approach that started bringing together all sectors of the civil society and its dynamic forces, Civic Influence Hub tends to approach vertically into the structure of what was stated in the open discussions on the basis of scientific methodology, away from traditional approaches. The benefit of this new approach is to build a positive roadmap for change in Lebanon, dominated by a functional operating system, sustainable economic policies, as well as comprehensive social policies, all applied considering the values of integrity, efficiency, equality, and the values of responsible citizenship.
CIH National Initiative, with its two components open discussions and round tables, may be an urgent need in times of the Lebanese vacuum, since it holds a sense of national responsibility and the development of a participatory approach, in order to protect Lebanon.
In this same context, and within the same framework, the Civic Influence Hub invites all stakeholders of the civil society and its dynamic forces to a dialogue Iftar on Monday 27/6/2016, that will include a speech on behalf of the Civic Influence Hub, followed by a documentary about the national initiative, which will be analyzed and commented on by the political writer, Jihad El Zein, before the round table the next day.
