Beirut, Lebanon, March 1st, 2017: Waterfront City Dbayeh – a strategic partnership between Majid Al Futtaim Properties and Société Joseph G.Khoury Et Fils – is launching “A photo worth taking” photography competition in collaboration with the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Dbayeh.
Waterfront City Dbayeh is celebrating one year of powering “Live Love Dbayeh” through this first photography competition by asking people to take a closer look at this area and define what makes it stand out.
John Ward, Project Head, Waterfront City-Dbayeh said: “This contest aims to inspire people to hone their camera skills and capture images that reflect their ‘Pride of Place’ in Dbayeh. We anticipate a huge amount of creativity and talent to shine through as evidenced by the posts shared across LiveLoveDbayeh. We are looking for an image that reflects the spirit of inclusiveness, culture and diversity intrinsic to the Metn region.”
The competition is open to everyone. You do not have to be a professional photographer to participate.
While capturing the extra ordinary, think of places that surprised and amused you. Draw the jury’s attention to any attractions that escape the notice of the average visitor or residents. Let the jury see Dbayeh through your lens.
Through this contest, Waterfront City Dbayeh aims to shed light on the area’s booming expansion and showcase the hidden gems of the Metn through the art of photography.
The jury is composed of Mrs. Ibtissam Fawaz representing the Ministry of Tourism, Ms. Corine Kabalan El Ahkar representing the Municipality of Dbayeh, Mr. Makram Al Kadi, The Business Park architect, representing Waterfront City Dbayeh, the filmmaker Mr. Phillipe Aractangi, and the photographer Ms. Ieva Saudargaitė.
Participants are asked to post their pictures using the hashtags #LiveLoveDbayeh and #WaterfrontCity for a chance to win valuable cash prizes of $3,000 for the best picture of Waterfront City & $2,000 for the best picture of Dbayeh.
A special event will be held at Waterfront City Dbayeh under the patronage of Ministry of Tourism where shortlisted photos will be exhibited for live voting from jury and winners announcement in the presence of prominent figures from the Metn region
The competition will last for six weeks starting from February 20th to April 3rd, 2017.
