Beirut, Lebanon, August 2017: PepsiCo, the world’s largest food and beverage companies, concluded in partnership with Ajialouna, the charity organization dedicated to supporting education, health, and social work, “Tomooh Saad Abdul Latif” for university scholarships in its twelfth year. This program aimed at empowering the Arab youth to pursue their education, distributed 270 financial grants this year, to students from various regions across Lebanon at Ajialouna’s premises.
Commenting on the occasion, PepsiCo’s Senior Vice President MENA Mr Nadim Nakfour credited the success of Tomooh to PepsiCo’s partnership with Ajialouna association, he also acknowledged the joint efforts of all involved have helped make possible the program’s 12th successful year. He added saying that “Tomooh Saad Abdul-Latif program is one of the several ways in which PepsiCo supports education development in Lebanon upon equal opportunities for all beneficiaries. Tomooh empowers determined students to face financial challenges achieve their ambitions, despite all obstacles, and become productive members of society.
For her part, Dr. Lena Dada, President of the Ajialouna Association, reiterated the importance of the Tomooh program and its positive impact throughout the years. She commended PepsiCo’s initiative to empower disadvantaged Lebanese youths and urged other private companies to do the same.
Since its launch in 2006, Tomooh Saad Abdul-Latif program has granted more than 2818 scholarships for well-deserving students throughout Lebanon. This program is one of the several ways in which PepsiCo supports the youths’ empowerment through education in Lebanon and the region, through its commitment to Performance with Purpose as the company strive to support local communities and invest in them.
