Beirut- December 2nd, 2016: In line with Whisky Live Beirut, the world’s premier event gathering curious Whisky aficionados and seasoned connoisseurs, Kempinski Summerland Hotel and Resort organized a Single Malt Masterclass hosted by Neil Ridley, one of UK’s most recognized spirits writers, presenters and commentators. This event took place at the 1897 Bar, boasting one of the largest and leading single malt scotch selection.
Whiskey lovers, media representatives, Lebanese bloggers and influencers were first welcomed to the 1897 Bar where they enjoyed signature drinks and colorful cocktails while listening to live piano music played in the background to compliment the perfect mood. Guests were then invited to experience a unique and refreshingly different approach to the world of Single Malt Scotch Whisky by chairman for the World Whiskies Awards and judge on the prestigious IWSC Awards, Neil Ridley.
The event conceptualized a variety of Single Malt tastings and pairings where invitees discovered a range of flavors found in Single Malt Scotch Whisky and the key to successfully pairing whiskey with food guided by one of the industry’s expert. “Whiskey and food can make a dream match. Single Malt can provide a variance of flavors and complex aromas. Which aroma and taste you bring out, how you mix it and pair it, that’s what makes all the difference”, explained Neil Ridley, deputy editor for Whisky Quarterly and the co-editor of new spirits website, WorldsBestSpirits.com.
Attendees enjoyed the good vibes while sampling exciting food pairings to create the perfect blend of flavors with some of their favorite single malt scotches. At the end of the event, guests were presented with a Master Class certificate. All in all, an experience that was definitely not to be missed!
