The Blessing Foundation in collaboration with Global Compact Network Lebanon (GCNL) and in
partnership with UN Women organized the launching of the project “She Min Lebnen” on Wednesday the 2 nd of May hosted at the Sarai and under the Patronage of the President of the Council of Ministers his Excellency Mr. Saad El Hariri.
This project aims to empower women in rural Lebanon by providing them with the best artistic and professional supervision and guidance. It is the first of its kind hub that connects talented ladies with the best names in arts and design to make their products attractive and marketable.
The event featured prominent figures including his Excellency Mr. Saad Hariri, Minister Jean Oghassabian, Ms. May Makhzoumi and Ms. Claudine Aoun.
Ms. Dina Harake, the Executive Director of GCNL re-affirmed its support to the Blessing Foundation and discussed the importance of advancing the 10 UN principles and the 17 SDGs particular in this case SDG #5: Gender Equality in Lebanon.
Ms. May Makhzoumi who is an active member of GCNL and the goal leader of SDG #5 also showed her support to this project and believes that this initiative will have a positive impact on the status of women in Lebanon and particularly in rural areas.
With the support of everyone in Lebanon, we hope “She Min Lebnen” will have a tremendous effect on the society at large to push the economic cycle and positively contribute to the status of the Lebanese women.
