Dubai. Since Porsche’s last participation in the Dubai International Motor Show (November 2015), the brand has accomplished a range of notable milestones. This includes achieving year-on-year sales records, winning motorsport championships around the world and developing a dynamic product portfolio that now features the highly anticipated third generation of the Cayenne. Set to make its first public debut in the region at this year’s edition of the Middle East’s largest automotive event, the Cayenne is one of four regional premieres from the sports car manufacturer. The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, Panamera 4S Sport Turismo and 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series will also share the spotlight at the Dubai World Trade Centre, from 14th till 18th November.
Deesch Papke, Chief Executive Officer, Porsche Middle East and Africa FZE, commented: “As always, our aim is to demonstrate the very latest innovation and developments in our product line at the Dubai International Motor Show, and this year’s event is no different. We are thrilled to reveal four new models, with each possessing true sports car credentials. Performance, design, personalisation and every day usability will be brought to life for all who visit the Porsche stand, as the current range of models represents the most diverse line-up in the brand’s history to date.”
The latest generation of the brand’s best-selling model in the Middle East, the Porsche Cayenne, will be one of the main highlights at this year’s show. Represented at Dubai International Motor Show by the Cayenne Turbo, Porsche’s flagship SUV range has evolved further and now boasts powerful turbo engines, a new eight-speed Tiptronic S gearbox and chassis systems which further enhance the spread between performance and comfort. Featuring a completely new four-litre V8 biturbo engine, the Cayenne Turbo achieves a top speed of 286 km/h and delivers 550 hp. The interior showcases the Porsche Advanced Cockpit concept, which takes the occupants’ experience of the journey to a new level, thanks to increased connectivity and intuitive controls. Meanwhile, a multitude of innovative assistant systems enhance the driver’s involvement, whether on-road or off-road.
Commenting on the brand’s SUV range, Deesch Papke added: “In the 15 years since the Cayenne was first introduced, it has become a hugely successful model – especially in this region. Part of the testing phase for the prototypes took place in the sand dunes around Dubai, and so it is only fitting that the third generation should enjoy its regional premiere here. Representing a completely new development, I can assure you that our latest SUV will not disappoint, thanks to its trademark performance and off-road capabilities.”
Porsche’s cutting-edge advancements in electric mobility will be showcased in the form of a Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, which also makes its Middle Eastern debut. Combining E-performance innovation with the brand’s distinctive quality build and design, this hybrid version is the new top-performer in the Panamera range. Delivering 850 Nm of instant torque and 680 hp output, the luxury saloon achieves a zero to 100 km/h time of just 3.4 seconds.
Also on display at this year’s show, will be the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series. Limited to just 500 units worldwide, the model is the most powerful Turbo S to date and offers an output of 607 hp. The unique design elements and luxury details, that set this coupe apart, are intricately finished by hand at the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur at the brand’s headquarters in Zuffenhausen, Germany. The in-house workshop specialises in customisation as well as production of limited-edition sports cars.
Highlighting the evolution of Porsche’s design approach will be the Panamera 4S Sport Turismo, a completely new interpretation of the exclusive model range. Bringing greater versatility to the luxury saloon segment, it is the first Panamera with three seats in the back and features a completely redesigned rear exterior. The new body shape of the Sport Turismo offers a large tailgate, low loading edge and increased luggage volume. The four-door sports car offers typical Porsche performance with an output of 440 hp and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.2 seconds when equipped with the Sport Chrono package.
A wide variety of models including the Macan, 718 Cayman and 911 GT3, as well as the show car version of the three-time Le Mans winning race car – the 919 Hybrid, will also be on display at next month’s Dubai International Motor Show.
