On Thursday January 25 at Burj on Bay, Le Cordon Bleu, the leading Global Network of Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institutes celebrated their continuous cooperation with Université Saint Esprit Du Kaslik (USEK) and the official opening of its Culinary Arts Institute and honored Mr. Nohad Dammous by naming one of the demo rooms under his name
The celebration was followed by a dinner at Signatures by Le Cordon Bleu, located on the 14th floor of BURJ on BAY Hotel.
NOUHAD DAMMOUS
A pioneer of hotel education in Lebanon and the Arab world since 1957.
Born in Beirut in 1933, Nouhad Dammous has dedicated his life to hospitality.
With a career spanning six decades, Nouhad was the first Lebanese in the hospitality industry to hold a Honoris Causa and was awarded with a National Order of the Cedar in 2013 by the President of the Republic of Lebanon.
Among his many great life achievements, Nouhad managed hotel schools in Lebanon and helped establish such schools in Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Libya (1957-1995). He co-founded Hospitality Services (1993) with his late wife Claude and their daughter Joumana, where they created the HORECA Lebanon trade show, a brand that has extended to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. To further support the industry, Hospitality Services developed and published Hospitality News Middle East, Taste & Flavors and Lebanon Traveler magazines.
Nouhad remains an active member of the Hospitality Services family with his daughters Joumana, Zeina and Randa and is also involved in countless international hospitality initiatives to this day.
