LibanPost reiterates its commitment to Lebanon
On the occasion of the Independence Day, LibanPost launched 15 new postal stamps of the founding fathers of the Lebanese Republic in an event under the patronage of the Minister of Telecommunications Sheikh Boutros Harb. The event was held at LibanPost’s office in Riad El Solh and was attended by a huge crowd of politicians, media and family relatives of the founding fathers and the master of the ceremony was Dr. Rony Alfa.
The newly launched postal stamps include the images of: Camille Chamoun, Saeb Salam, Pierre Gemayel, Henri Pharaon, Mohamad El Fadel, Abdul Hamid Karami, Habib Abou Chahla, Majid Arslan, Rashid Baydoun, Adnan Al Hakim, Hamid Frangieh, Maroun Kanaan, Saadi Al Mounla, Sabri Hamadeh and Selim Takla.
Mr. Khalil Daoud, Chairman of LibanPost stated: “It is not the first time that LibanPost honors great men from our country, but it is a path that we chose to take in order to constantly convey symbols of our history to the public and the young generation”. “We have a duty to preserve the history of our nation and to raise awareness on such symbols to learn from them and build a better country for all, without segmentation.
The launch event of the postal stamps gave a synopsis of each of the honored men, and explained the different responsibilities they had during that time. The relatives of the honored men signed on a new copy Lebanese flag similar to the one that was signed more than 73 years ago. Collectors and the general public have now the opportunity to buy these rare stamps at all of LibanPost’s offices and the company website.
