Planet Discovery Children’s Science Museum and Beirut Souks, in collaboration with the ‘Institut Francais’ in Lebanon and ‘Culture Sciences et Territoires’ (CST) – Paris, will host an exhibition entitled ‘Wheat Spikes’ featuring celebrity French chef Antoine Bonnet on Wednesday 24 October at 11am.
‘Wheat Spikes’ is part of Planet Discovery’s endeavor to organize a yearly scientific exhibit which focuses on a topic that is high on the Lebanese academic curriculum, using fun and engaging techniques which always lighten up the atmosphere for everyone.
This year, experts will use the most interactive, easy learning tools to reveal the existential role that wheat has played over many generations. Everyone attending will be taken through the overall baking process that is utilized by bakeries the world over.
Children and their parents will have the unique opportunity to witness a host of wheat based food items and wide varieties of bread that will be on display. The objective is to demonstrate the integral role of wheat in the Lebanese cuisine.
At the exhibit, representatives from Planet Discovery will take kids through the process of pastry making on various cooking stations, while also giving them the chance to participate in highly educative plantation and baking workshops conceived for this very special theme.
Planet Discovery Children’s Science Museum is the only permanent children’s science museum in Lebanon. Founded in 1999 by Solidere in collaboration with ‘La Villette’ and ‘Palais de la Découverte’ in Paris, the venue is home to a variety of exhibitions on science and technology and welcomes a wide range of schools and community groups as well as family visits enjoying an extensive learning experience every time they come back.
