The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Mohammad Najib Azmi Mikati, President of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Lebanon. They discussed the situation in Lebanon, with the Secretary-General emphasizing the continued commitment of the United Nations to support the Lebanese people.
The Secretary-General and the President of the Council of Ministers also discussed the contribution of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in maintaining stability.
The Secretary-General expressed appreciation for Lebanon’s generosity in hosting refugees, while underscoring efforts to find durable solutions for safe and dignified returns.
