Statement issued by Lebanese Diaspora groups on March 7, 2026
Lebanon is facing a national catastrophe caused by Israel’s destructive war and Hezbollah’s continued military actions that defy legitimate state authority and the country’s national interest.
In light of the above, we, Lebanese in the diaspora, call for the immediate implementation of the government’s decision banning Hezbollah’s military and security activities, a fundamental sovereign step to definitively end the duality of arms through political and legal means.
We also stress the importance of accompanying this decision with intensive political and diplomatic action at the Arab and international levels to strengthen the safety net supporting Lebanon, and to prevent Israel from expanding its aggression or attempting to reoccupy parts of the south.
In parallel, we call for the broadest possible national and humanitarian mobilization to support the displaced and affected population and ensure dignified resilience in the face of the worsening tragedy.
The regional escalation requires rallying around the state’s constitutional institutions and supporting its sovereign decisions to safeguard Lebanon and its people.
