IRCAD Liban successfully concluded its first free robotic surgery course, held at Hôpital Français du Levant over two days (February 26-27, 2025). The event saw remarkable participation from medical students and top Lebanese medical universities, marking a significant milestone in advancing medical education in Lebanon. The course featured high-level lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and live-streamed surgical procedures.
A distinguished lineup of experts led the training, including Professor Alexandre de la Taille and Dr. Nour Khalil, who provided in-depth insights into robotic surgery techniques in urology. The program also featured hands-on training in collaboration with Intuitive Surgical, as well as small-group clinical observations inside the operating rooms, allowing participants to witness robotic-assisted surgeries up close.
Attendees praised the course’s high-quality educational content and the cutting-edge technology utilized, making it an exceptional learning experience that significantly enriched their knowledge. This initiative further strengthened Lebanon’s reputation as a regional hub for medical excellence.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Antoine Maalouf, President of IRCAD Liban, extended his gratitude to all participants, including students, university professors, and academic leaders, as well as the directors of military healthcare services. He also acknowledged the invaluable support of IRCAD France, which played a crucial role in ensuring the success of this initiative.
