Lebanon, 24 January 2023 – Philip Morris International, one of the world’s leading tobacco companies, was recognized as a Top Employer in Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon for the seventh year in a row, among reputable well-established companies from the Egypt & Levant region. The certificate was granted by Top Employers’ Institute to organizations and institutions that showcase excellence in people practices and provide the best workplace environment for all their employees.
The certification is a further recognition of the sustainability of Philip Morris’s leading position and the progress it is making as part of its transformation. As part of the certification and evaluation process, Philip Morris affiliates were required to demonstrate to independent Human Resource auditors how it has been excelling across six HR domains consisting of 20 topics such as People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Diversity & Inclusion, Wellbeing and more.
This is the seventh consecutive year Philip Morris has won such a prestigious international award, as the company first received the award in 2016 and sustained its position by receiving the award annually until 2023. PMI’s affiliates were also recognized as leading employers in 33 other countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia/Pacific. Philip Morris International, is also one of the 15 international organizations awarded this year’s Global Top Employer certification. PMI employs more than 69,600 people worldwide.
