Successful Course Highlights the Hospital’s and IRCAD Lebanon’s Role in Advancing Surgical Education and Training
Beirut, July 25, 2026 – The second Multi-Visceral Robotic Surgery Course concluded successfully on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Hôpital Français du Levant, through IRCAD Lebanon, which is hosted by the hospital. The course brought together a distinguished group of surgeons and experts from Lebanon and France.
The course was supervised by Dr. Antoine Maalouf, President of IRCAD Lebanon and CEO of Hôpital Français du Levant, with the participation of Dr. Luca Theuil from CHU Nîmes University Hospital in France and Dr. Ali Chokr, Director of the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery Program at IRCAD Lebanon.
The program combined scientific lectures with hands-on training, in addition to the live transmission of robotic surgical procedures from the operating room to the Jacques Marescaux Auditorium, allowing participants to observe the latest techniques and best practices in multi-visceral robotic surgery.
All surgical procedures performed during the course were completed successfully, marking another milestone that reflects the advanced level of robotic surgery training and practice in Lebanon. The achievement also highlights the importance of collaboration between Lebanese and international experts in advancing surgical care.
