Beirut, May 3, 2022:
In May 2022, Daughters of Charity of Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur announced the launch of Maison St. Vincent, an assisted living facility that offers a full range of care for long-term or short-term stays alongside rehabilitation services for senior citizens.
With the noticeable rise in the rates of emigration among Lebanese youth which is increasing the proportion of the elderly counting on assisted living facilities, the initiative for Maison St. Vincent to serve the community was urged to ensure optimal aging for those whose children are unable to personally care for them.
Addressing the needs of an aging population is both a moral imperative and essential service in the continuum of care. A full spectrum of services is provided at the facility through a well-trained multi-disciplinary team to ensure the physical and mental comfort of its residents. Customized care is adapted to their medical assessment, dietary requirements, and mobility.
The memory disorders assessment and rehabilitation programs are also developed by Maison St. Vincent therapists to optimize the residents’ state of health and maximize their functional independence to elevate their wellbeing.
The existing facility is made up of a total capacity of 20 residents. Each room is equipped with a private bathroom, medical bed, a mini-fridge, television, WiFi, telephone, hot water, and 24/7 heating or cooling. The facility also includes mutual spaces such as a dining area, lounge, outdoor terrace, and physiotherapy hall.
The admission process begins with an initial assessment of the applicant that is studied carefully by the admission committee to ensure that the center is a perfect match for the applicant’s condition.
