- The two organisations have made their facilities available to Ma’an’s ‘Together We Are Good’ programme
Abu Dhabi, 13 April 2020: A hospital and medical center in Al Ain have come forward to offer their facilities to help treat quarantined coronavirus (COVID-19) patients, as communities’ acts of generosity across the Emirate are channeled through Ma’an’s ‘Together We Are Good’ programme.
Launched by the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, companies and individuals have pulled together to support the ‘Together We Are Good’ programme that is aimed at bringing together the community’s efforts to address the current health and economic challenges.
Among the companies to offer their support are Ain Al Khaleej Hospital and Al Farah Medical Rehabilitation Center. Both have contributed by offering facilities such as beds and medical equipment to patients affected by the current health challenges.
To ensure the facilities met the required health standards, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi conducted a thorough inspection at both Ain Al Khaleej Hospital and Al Farah Medical Rehabilitation Center. The inspectors examined the rooms, equipment and accessibility to receive the coronavirus (COVID-19) patients and ensure providing the highest standard health care services, the Department of Health praised Ma’an’s ‘Together We Are Good’ programme reflecting unity and community cohesion under the current situation.
Yosef Al Nuaimi, Manager of Ain Al Khaleej Hospital, said: “The owner and Head of Executive Administration of Ain Al Khaleej Hospital has decided to contribute as much as possible by providing extra beds, isolation rooms and medical equipment which will assist with any emergencies.”
Dr. Mohammed Manasra, Owner of Al Farah Medical Rehabilitation Center, has encouraged other medical organizations to contribute to the programme.
He said: “I urge everyone who are in the medical sector to provide in any way possible. During this difficult period, the community needs solidarity and be united to help those in need.
Her Excellency Salama Al Ameemi, Director General of Ma’an, said: “We are absolutely thrilled with the generosity of the public during these unprecedented times and the last couple of days have really highlighted how amazing our communities have been – and continue to be. Every contribution is making a huge difference and I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who has supported the ‘Together We Are Good’ programme so far.
“Hospitals and health facilities have been at the frontline of overcoming the current challenges. With Al Farah Medical Rehabilitation Center and Ain Al Khaleej Hospital contributing its facilities, it will ensure we are one step ahead so we can move swiftly to treat patients who are in need.”
The ‘Together We Are Good’ programme is the first project of Ma’an’s Social Fund that allows community contributions to help tackle social challenges and will continue to support the health sector on an ongoing basis. The Social Fund is the official government channel to receive contributions from the community to tackle pressing social challenges.
Participants wishing to contribute financially can send SMS messages to 6670 (AED 1000), 6678 (500 AED), 6683 (100 AED) and 6658 (50 AED). They can also call 8005-MAAN for volunteering and in-kind and financial contributions above AED 1,000 or send messages on WhatsApp on 0543055366. Transfers can also be made via First Abu Dhabi Bank using the IBAN number: AE100351011003988349032. In-kind contributions include equipment, buildings, services, and time as well as expert volunteering efforts.
