Bringing together warmth and crispness, softness and a light touch, Barrie unites its house
cashmere with supple jersey for the first time to create a women’s capsule collection, an airy and
fresh offer with light-hearted college references for a sweetly retro touch.
Inspired by a favourite cardigan that slips over a white t-shirt as soon as there is a nip in the air,
Barrie’s artistic director Augustin Dol-Maillot wanted to create a direct encounter between key
knitwear classics and the must-haves found in every wardrobe. The result is a forward-thinking
capsule, bringing these two complementary materials together for the first time in the Barrie
lexicon, with the clever mix of traditional and contemporary references that identifies the house
style. The complexity of the technical savoir-faire behind each piece vanishes to give only a
feeling of natural elegance and ease.
The contrast between cashmere knit and cut and sewn jersey brings an added freshness to a
collection that also looks towards the insouciance of college style. This combination of textures,
at once familiar and unexpected, becomes a meeting of atmospheres, bringing a luxurious feel to
more relaxed pieces perfectly suited for the meteorological no man’s land between summer and
autumn. The Barrie logo appears in 3D stitch on a hoodie or a sweatshirt, a t-shirt and a vintageinspired cardigan referencing a varsity letter jacket. The essential cashmere tracksuit pants, a
sunhat and initialled neck scarf complete the range.
Both materials adopt a romantic colour scheme which brings added poetry to this encounter
between worlds: off-white, navy, pale pink and light blue.
The Barrie Summer 2021 capsule will be available in July in the brand’s boutiques as well as on its
dedicated website.
