Beirut Lebanon- 2022: As part of its activities aimed at restoring life to the city of Beirut, specifically Gemmayze street, and supporting local innovations in the country, Spinneys participated in “A’a Tareeq El-Gemmayze” festival in Gemmayze created by “In Action Events” in partnership with the Beirut Municipality and “S.D. Global” through “Souk El Beit.” By taking part in it, Spinneys managed to promote local inventions and support small businesses by giving thirty creative men and women a platform to display and market their products all day.
The motto of this activity aims to remind us that people of Beirut are always full of life regardless of Lebanon’s current conditions. And this goes in line with Spinneys’ objectives to continuously support the community stems from their belief that Lebanese people possess the ability to constantly turn crises into opportunities as their individual businesses are repeatedly adapted to the current situations where they always rise.
On this occasion, the Chief Marketing Officer of Spinneys, Ralph Al Kai stated: “We are glad to have participated in this inclusive activity that restores hope to Beirut and its residents, and that falls in line with the objectives of “Souk El Beit” exhibition, which has been going for two years now in support of local talents, and encourage young women and men to stay in Lebanon by expanding their work locally and globally.” He then added: “We will continue to support such activities that highlight the potential of small emerging businesses as we understand their significant role in increasing Lebanon’s economic growth”.
The festival that started at 9AM and ended at 7PM included 200 participants ranging from artists to designers to craftsmen along with other institutions besides the “Souk El Beit’s” exhibitors. It was a no-fee entry that allowed for people to discover and purchase a multitude of food products and innovative products at a special price. This was done to encourage the creative owners with an effort to push their business forward.
Everyone gathered on the main street of Gemmayze for a fun and entertaining atmosphere which was proof of the Lebanese people’s longing for a life filled with happiness and tranquility.
