Aligning with this year’s #ZayedAndRashid nationwide campaign, which honours the UAE’s founding fathers and strengthens national identity within the UAE society, the park will be home to a lineup of activations and experiences that honour the spirit of the union.
Iconic decorations reflecting the occasion will adorn Global Village, crafting an artistic scene, while distinctive lighting will illuminate the renowned gates and main landmarks in the radiant colours of the UAE flag, creating an ambiance like no other.
Cultural performances will be in full swing across the destination, with the Main Stage as a focal point, presenting the grand theatrical operetta ‘Hawa Emarati’ from 1 to 3 December. The captivating act that features more than 40 artists and performers will take place twice daily (7:05PM and 9:40PM) and depict nine breathtaking scenes. The operetta tells the story of an Emirati wedding that unfolds before the union and follows the bride and groom as they witness the founding of the UAE in 1971. Embracing the importance of preserving the UAE’s cultural legacy, the act captures traditional costumes, songs and dances with a fresh, creative perspective. Other cultural shows that guests will have the opportunity to watch and enjoy includes Emirati bands ‘Liwa’ and ‘Harbiyah’, hosted at the Main Stage and throughout the park.
Adding to the vibrant experiences, from Friday 29 November to Tuesday 3 December at 9:00PM daily, a spectacular fireworks display will light up the night sky in the hues of the UAE flag. This breathtaking show promises to enchant guests and pay tribute to Eid Al Etihad. Guests can look forward to a stunning drone show on 2 December, featuring #ZayedAndRashid national theme. This impressive production, introduced for the first time to make the occasion, will be a standout highlight of Global Village’s celebrations, offering a truly immersive experience for all.
In line with the celebrations, shopping at the family destination is key, providing guests with a unique experience to get their hands on special occasion-relevant souvenirs at key pavilions such as UAE Pavilion, the 971 from the Community Pavilion, and the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works Pavilion. The Heritage Village, affiliated with the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, will also offer a range of shopping options and displays of authentic Emirati handicrafts.
The dining experience at Global Village during the celebrations is a popular favourite. Guests will have the opportunity to savour authentic traditional Emirati cuisine, including fan-favourites such as Luqaimat and Ragag Bread, available at various kiosks across the destination.
By contributing to the 53rd Eid Al Etihad, Global Village reaffirms its commitment to honouring the UAE’s flagship annual occasion, praising national cohesion and the country’s rich cultural heritage, while showcasing its deep appreciation for the vision and values that have shaped the UAE’s remarkable progress.
