BEIRUT, 17 February 2026 – In a landmark step to strengthen coordinated action for children, UNICEF and the Government of Lebanon today signed Rolling Workplans with 10 ministries under the leadership of the Prime Minister, marking the first time such agreements have been signed collectively and under the umbrella of the Prime Minister’s Office.
The joint signing reflects a shared commitment to transparent, coordinated, and results-oriented collaboration aligned with national priorities, placing children and adolescents at the center of public policy and service delivery.
The Rolling Workplans signed with the Ministries of, Finance, Energy and Water, Social Affairs, Economy and Trade, Interior and Municipalities, Justice, Youth and Sports, Education and Higher Education, Information, and Public Health, outline clear priorities, roles, and expected results for the 2026–2027 period, reinforcing alignment between government strategies and UNICEF support to improve the lives, protection, participation and well-being of all children and young people in Lebanon.
“These workplans are how we deliver for every child, without exception,” said Marcoluigi Corsi, UNICEF Representative in Lebanon. “By aligning priorities across ministries and grounding our cooperation in national systems, we are strengthening the foundations that children rely on, from education and health to protection and social services. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, and with the strong commitment of all ministries present today, these workplans turn shared commitments into concrete action, ensuring that policies and reforms translate into real, measurable improvements in the lives of children and adolescents across Lebanon, especially those facing the greatest vulnerabilities.”
Built on longstanding partnerships between UNICEF and line ministries, the collective signing strengthens coordination across government institutions and supports ongoing reform efforts aimed at improving the quality, equity, and reach of services for children, adolescents, and the most vulnerable families.
UNICEF reaffirmed its commitment to continue working closely with the Government of Lebanon to support reforms, strengthen systems, and translate plans into measurable impact on the ground, guided by one principle: every action, for every child.
