Nucleus Ventures launches Woz Workforce Lebanon: On a mission to create 1000 jobs in tech. DOT Lebanon and Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund offer first 100 scholarships

At least one in three Lebanese is unemployed. Another 20% of the population is not getting a full salary. And all the Lebanese saw a drastic decline in their purchasing power due to hyperinflation.

“Woz Workforce is on a mission to equip 1000 underprivileged and capable individuals to land high quality jobs in technology” said Naji Boutros, Nucleus Ventures Chairman.

A Nucleus Ventures initiative powered by Woz Global (the international arm of Apple Founder Steve Wozniak’s coding school, Woz U), Workforce offers blended learning programs in full stack development, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning and cyber security. To those vying for less specialized jobs, Workforce offers programs in IT services, software testing and network administration. Supported by Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund, and in partnership with DOT Lebanon, Workforce is 100% free to all learners.

Learners take the program courses both online and in-class. They also get access to virtual teaching assistants from anywhere as long as they have a laptop and an internet connection.

In addition to blended learning programs, Workforce boosts its students’ employability with soft skills workshops and opportunities to build their portfolios through internships and project collaborations.

The Workforce digital platform matches learners with potential employers, both locally and worldwide, through partner online job platforms. “We are leveraging a community of 100+ tech companies who graduated from our accelerator programs to match their need for talent with those whose livelihood is at stake” said Nadim Zaazaa, Nucleus Ventures’ Managing Partner.

“We will help the most deserving so that they help the most vulnerable, especially in rural areas.” For that purpose, Nucleus Ventures partnered with Digital Opportunity Trust Lebanon to strengthen its reach and effectiveness.

Those interested in applying to the programs can visit the website. Potential employers wishing to learn more about the programs and meet the graduates can set up employer profiles on the website.
