Beirut, Lebanon: 134 students from College Protestant Francais (CPF) were awarded a certificate at a special ceremony under the patronage of the British Council and Cambridge English. These internationally recognised qualifications are utilised by universities, employers, and government bodies in over 130 countries, broadening the students’ future education and employment prospects.
Every year Cambridge Assessment International Education issues certificates to recognise students’ completion of the Cambridge Assessment English qualifications. This year, Cambridge Assessment exams evaluate candidates’ English language proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. By preparing for these exams, students develop the necessary skills to effectively communicate in English.
The ceremony was attended by the UK’s Deputy Head of Mission, Camilla Nickless, Mayssa Dawi, British Council Country Director, Sabine Sciortino Director, Institut français du Liban and Olivier Gautier, Principal, College Protestant Francais as well as friends and family members of the students.
On the event, British Council Lebanon Country Director, Mayssa Dawi said, “Our partnership with College Protestant Français began in 2016 with the delivery of Cambridge Assessment exams. I’m proud to see this collaboration flourish over the years. We are committed to working closely with CPF and other French schools in the future, enabling students to pursue their UK qualifications and study abroad.”
On the ceremony, Mr. Olivier Gautier, CPF Principal commented, “I would like to underline the outstanding performance in the completion of their Cambridge exams this year with an impressive success rate. My congratulations to all the students here today and heartfelt thanks to the educators and parents who have provided unwavering guidance to the students as well as the British Council on their ongoing support and impeccable delivery of the exams.”
CPF envisions that all French schools will adopt Cambridge English Assessments, providing students with global qualifications that pave the way for higher education studies abroad. Globally, British Council Partner Schools collaborates with over 2,100 schools, supports more than 60,000 teachers, and positively impacts the lives of approximately one million students. This event aligns with the British Council’s mission to foster connections, understanding, and trust through education.
