Andrée Hochar Fattal will exhibit her sculptures in the context of the International Women’s Rights Day organized by the AUB on Tuesday March 8, 2022. On that day, the AUB Archaeological Museum, the Asfari Institute, AUB Libraries, the Issam Fares Institute and the MEPI, will celebrate women with a series of diverse and collaborative events highlighting and amplifying women’s voices and achievements, past, present and future.
The opening will take place at 3 p.m. at the Jafet Library with the launch of an exhibit on the History of women in the Arab press, followed by an interactive panel discussion featuring AUB women students, grads and alumnae.
The day will continue at the Archaeological Museum with a Garden party, followed at 6 p.m. by the inauguration of Mother Earth, an installation of Andrée Hochar Fattal’s sculptures resonating with the AUB Archaeological Museum’s Goddesses of Fertility. A cultural dialogue in a daring face-to-face that verbalizes the unspoken and reveals the oneness of women through the ages.
This exhibition is also a tribute to Andrée’s sister, Marion Hochar Ibrahimchah, friend and member of the AUB Museum, victim of August 4, 2020.
At 7 p.m., the BAFF Screening of the ‘Journal de Sheherazade’ will end the day.
The exhibition Mother Earth will be on display until March 31, 2022. Monday to Friday from 9am to 5 pm.
