Following the success of his first essay, “The Institutional Revolution in Lebanon,” which delved into the topic of governance and decentralization in Lebanon, essayist and entrepreneur Hikmat Abou Zeid launched his new book of poetry entitled: “Les artères de l’instant” (Valves of the Moment), which is a collection of poetic texts that the author has written throughout various stages of his life and stopped for a while, until he resumed writing in 2021, the whole resulted in the production of 65 poems that explore themes such as life, love, passion, time, and human relationships.
Published by Antoine Publishing House, this book represents a unique adventure with texts full of passion, accurate descriptions, and poetic vocabulary that fills the mind and the spirit just as the cover image of the book that represents the heart of the human body that nourishes the arteries with life.
The event took place at ArtHaus, Gemmayzeh that witnessed an enchanting evening as the highly anticipated poetry book, ‘Les artères de l’instant‘, was unveiled in the presence of esteemed social and cultural personalities, along with the writer’s friends and family. The atmosphere was nothing short of magical, transporting attendees into the profound realms of the poet’s heart and words.
The event featured captivating readings by Yasmina Massoud, Randa Sadaka, and Paul Njeim, who mesmerized the audience with their heartfelt renditions.
Hikmat Abou Zeid in his speech, indicated that this experience began at an early age, in the twenties, and quickly developed to grow with him, where he found it interesting to share it with readers who would be surprised by his poetic personality. The whole experienced described as “therapeutic discovery”.
Abou Zeid added: “After a silence that lasted for more than 12 years, I resumed writing. As a result, I decided to remove the dust from my writings in order to re-read them and share them with my friends who described them to me with sincerity, which enabled me to continue writing and publishing.”
Following the ceremony, a book signing took place, fostering lively conversations about the book’s content and the writer’s innovative poetic journey. Hikmat Abu Zeid’s book is available at all Antoine Library branches in Lebanon on the website www.antoineonline.com.
