Beirut, Sursock Museum, January 27, 2026 The Friends of the Sursock Museum Committee is hosting a special fundraising evening on Thursday, January 29, in support of the Museum and in celebration of the closing of the acclaimed exhibition Divas. This exceptional event will revive the magic of the golden age of Arab music through the voice of the renowned Jahida Wehbé, performing legendary songs by the great Arab divas. The evening will begin at 7:30 PM with a cocktail reception in the Salon Arabe followed by the concert at 9:00 PM in the auditorium.
All exhibition spaces of the Museum, including Divas, will exceptionally remain open exclusively for guests until 9:00 PM.
About the Divas Exhibition After achieving tremendous success in Paris, Amsterdam, and Amman, the exhibition Divas, which pays tribute to the legacy of the greatest divas of the Arab world and celebrates their artistic impact, came to Beirut thanks to the generosity and commitment of dedicated patrons. Opened on October 16, 2025, the exhibition has welcomed more than 35,000 visitors to the Sursock Museum and will close on February 1, 2026.
About Jahida Wehbé Born in Lebanon in 1969, Jahida Wehbé studied Oriental, Syriac, and lyrical singing as well as the oud at the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory of Music. She also pursued studies in Sufi song, Qur’anic recitation, avant-garde music, and the composition of musical and poetic works for theater.
