“Rebirth Beirut” is preparing to launch its new exhibition entitled “Flower Power”, an art exhibition that brings together Benoît Debbané and Wissam Eid, two very similar artists from two different generations.
Benoît and Wissam have a strikingly comparable use of bold black strokes outlining ever-entangled organic figures, vibrant solid colors, peculiar objects and characters, sometimes ‘ugly’ by today’s aesthetic standards, all featured in ‘beautiful messes’ in a seemingly constant quest for freedom of thought and expression.
FLOWER POWER exhibition will be launched on November 18 from 6 PM until 9 PM at the association’s cultural center in Gemmayzeh, Gouraud Street, in cooperation with Alia Matar Hilal – The Gallerist – and the exhibition will open its doors until November 26th from 12 PM till 8 PM.
About the opening, the President and Founder of Rebirth Beirut, Mr. Gaby Fernaine, said: “Our association continues to present the best artists to the diverse audience that awaits our exhibitions to encourage local and international talents and the civilized image of Beirut, which our association aims to portray as a global capital of culture, beauty and life.”
Part of the proceeds will go to support Rebirth Beirut’s initiatives which previously included a series of development projects, most notably the lighting of Beirut’s streets, which amounted to about 38 streets and 4 main avenues in the city.
