Due to overwhelming public enthusiasm for the upcoming new production of Bizet’s Carmen, originally scheduled for July 25, 2025, a second performance has been added on July 26, 2025 at 8:00 PM, once again at the iconic Steps of the Bacchus Temple at Baalbeck Acropolis.
This additional performance has been made possible thanks to both the remarkable demand and recently secured funding that will allow the production to be staged a second time. As the world’s most performed and beloved opera celebrates its 150th anniversary, this production promises a spectacular and memorable moment.
Directed by Jorge Takla and conducted by Toufic Maatouk, the performance features visual design by Nabil Nahas, costumes by Rabih Kayrouz, and choreography by Nada Kanno and Anselmo Zolla. A distinguished cast of internationally acclaimed soloists from France will bring Carmen to life, accompanied by the Romanian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the choir from Antonine University.
