After lifting one more time the colors of Lebanon during an exceptional concert at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, TANIA KASSIS returned to her homeland and delighted her spectators at the Beirut Holidays Festival with a unique concert under the artistic direction of Cynthia Sarkis Perros.
She appeared on stage in a beautiful red dress by Azzi & Osta, interpreting her famous Hymn to Beirut “Ounchoudat Beirut” and chose as a themE for her concert in these difficult times the “Love of Life”. Surrounded by over 150 singers from three different choirs – One Voice, Viva Maria and Louise Wegmann Choir – directed by Fadi Kabbani, she sang her greatest hits and paid tribute to the Lebanese diaspora living in Latin America, before ending the first part of the concert with the breathtaking duet of “The Phantom of the Opera” with the tenor Joseph Dahdah – finalist of the famous show ” Arabs Got Talent “.
Tania Kassis started the second part of the concert with her new song ” Al Ardou Lil Jami3 – #land4all ” that she had recently launched in collaboration with the United Nations, wearing a beautiful black dress signed Ranya Karram – winner of the 2016 fashion school ESMOD Promotion. Then she sang her legendary ” Islamo-Christian AVE ” with Maen Zakaria in a magical setting that earned her a standing ovation in the middle of the concert, before singing her other successful songs such as ” Watani ” rewarded by the Murex d’Or, “Darb el Majd” and some interesting adaptations of major international hits with oriental arrangements.
Among the audience were the Minister of Tourism Mr. Michel Pharaon, the Minister of Education Mr. Elias Bou Saab, the Apostolic Nuncio Monsignor Caccia, the ambassadors of Britain, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Brazil, Egypt, Morocco, Paraguay, South Korea, as well as the director of the United Nations Information Centre in Beirut Mrs. Margo el Helou.
At the end of the concert, the audience was asking for more and even gave her a second standing ovation. Touched and moved, she took the Lebanese flag that a fan handed her and performed under a thunderous applause her famous song “Trabak Ya Lebnan”.
Tania Kassis has been named Honorary Ambassador of the South Korean contingent of the UNIFIL and is also the Founder and President of ONE LEBANON. Awarded the Lebanese Accomplishment Medal, Tania Kassis embodies the new era of the Lebanese cultural beauty with a multilingual pop – opera style.
