In line with Credit Libanais’ continuous effort to consolidate its position as a pioneer institution and role model in innovation, and in accordance with the bank’s strategy aimed at developing a cashless society and encouraging the establishment of e-government, the bank in cooperation with the municipality of Beit Mery and “Quick Solutions” and through its two companies NetCommerce and CCM, are launching the “Baladiyat Online” service, which allows citizens to pay their bills, fees and municipal taxes online through an electronic payment platform, or via electronic payment machines, in a fast, efficient and secure manner.
This service is based on a technical and information system developed by Quick Solutions, and aims to facilitate the cashless payment process via electronic cards, and also provides flexibility and ease of payment from anywhere in the world at any time, in addition to enhancing transparency, fighting corruption and avoiding bureaucracy. On the other hand, this service provides many benefits to municipalities, the most important of which are avoiding fraudulent banknotes and checks without balance, simplifying administrative procedures and reducing dependence on paperwork.
On this occasion, Mrs. Randa Bdeir, Deputy General Manager and Head of Electronic Payment at Credit Libanais said: “This service is an important step forward towards building an E-Government and aims at enhancing transparency and thus establish a cashless society, which reduces the costs resulting from dealing with liquidity, and helps to advance the economic wheel. We hope that all municipalities will adopt this service that is most suitable for citizens, in order to spread the culture of electronic payment in all regions to include 80 or 90% of daily payments”.
Me Roy Shedid, mayor of Beit Mery municipality added: “Despite all the difficulties that the country and the municipalities are going through, the Beit Mery municipality remains the first in providing the best services to Lebanese citizens by launching an online portal in cooperation with Credit Libanais and Quick Solution for them to pay their tax from Lebanon and abroad and track their transactions. Hoping this service will facilitate the citizens ’affairs.
