71st Independence of India, Flag Hoisting Ceremony Embassy of India Beirut

The Embassy of India marked the 71st Independence Day of India on 15 August 2017 with Flag Hoisting ceremony at the Embassy premises, attended by a large and broad-based gathering of Indian nationals based in Lebanon. Ambassador addressed the joyous gathering and read the speech given by the President of India on the eve of Independence Day. The Programme for the day included singing of Indian patriotic song by a Lebanese opera singer Ms. Tara Maalouf and a dance performance by the students attending dance classes conducted at the Embassy. The cultural programme was followed by prize distribution for the winners of the quiz and an essay competition organized as part of 3rd International Day of Yoga and quiz competition organized as part of celebration of 70 years of India’s Independence.
