LAU Medical Center–Saint John’s Hospital (LAUMCSJH) marked Saint John’s Day and its fifth anniversary in September 2026, bringing together LAU Health System and medical center leadership, physicians, nurses, and staff to reflect on five years of service, resilience, and healing with compassion.
Held at Monastery Mar Youhanna, the celebration was centered around the anniversary theme, “The 5 Cs: Care, Compassion, Courage, Commitment, and Community,” five values that have shaped the medical center’s journey and continue to guide its commitment to patients, families, and the wider community. The occasion began with Holy Mass, followed by remarks reflecting on the institution’s growth over the past five years and the collective dedication that has shaped its journey.
In his address, Dr. Sally Al Rabbaa, Chief Executive Officer of LAU Medical Center–Saint John’s Hospital, reflected on the significance of the milestone and the people behind it. Highlighting the dedication and compassion demonstrated by the medical center’s teams throughout the past five years, he described the LAU Medical Center – Saint John’s Hospital as a beacon for Lebanon, recognizing the colleagues whose commitment has remained steadfast through some of the country’s most challenging times. He emphasized that the medical center’s journey is a shared responsibility, calling on its teams to continue moving forward together, united by a common purpose and a commitment to serving others.
Father Madi and Dr. Zeina Khouri-Stevens, Executive Vice President of the LAU Health System, also addressed attendees, reflecting on the values, people, and shared purpose that continue to define the medical center and its role within the LAU Health System.
The celebration continued with an anniversary cake-cutting, followed by a special recognition of Dr. Rachid Rahmeh and Mr. Charles Tannous for their dedication and support. The occasion concluded with a reception bringing together employees across the medical center, offering an opportunity to celebrate the people whose commitment and collective efforts have shaped five years of shared achievement and laid the foundation for the years ahead.
