A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI), marking a significant collaboration aimed at advancing academic excellence and contributing to the broader educational landscape. This partnership is designed to mutually benefit both AUB and DI by fostering a collaborative environment for academic programs, faculty exchange, and research initiatives.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Zaher Dawy, AUB provost, and Dr. Yusuf Sidani, dean of the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business at AUB, and Dr. Abdelwahab ElAffendi, president of the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. It outlines detailed protocols for launching specific collaborative efforts that include facilitating student exchanges, sharing faculty expertise through lectures and workshops, engaging in joint research projects, and developing specialized academic and training programs including internships. Both institutions committed to exploring collaborative efforts aimed at enriching academic opportunities and pursuits for both entities.
“This MoU opens the door for further collaboration on multiple fronts related to various educational and research opportunities, in line with our mission to transform business thinking in the MENA region. We recognize that there are multiple opportunities for us to together enhance knowledge production locally and globally, in this region and beyond,” said Dr. Yusuf Sidani.
The collaboration further seeks to embody a mutual commitment to fostering a vibrant academic community that benefits students, faculty, and the wider academic world.
