Beirut March 2022 – Kempinski Summerland Hotel and Resort Beirut has launched this month The Leading Women Annual Award during an event that gathered the honoured ladies for this year, the press and the Kempinski Summerland Beirut team in the presence of the general manager, Markus Iseli and the CEO of the Kempinski Summerland owning company, Najib Nehmé.
Kempinski Summerland Beirut’s Leading Women Annual Award honours young leading ladies who have positively impacted the society or for being inspirational ambassadors in their field. The award assesses the previous year’s achievements and is celebrated during the month of March between Women’s International Day and Mother’s Day.
This year, the accolade went to five ladies who have been active in the social and humanitarian welfare as well as in the cultural and artistic spheres and they are in alphabetical order;
Audrey Nakad Pharaon whose vision is to build the largest online school in the world to enhance the academic performance of every learner. Audrey is the co-founder and CEO of Ostaz the number 1 online private tutoring platform in the MENA providing students with the right teacher to help them achieve their learning needs. In 2019, she was listed in Forbes 30 Under 30.
Danielle Hatem: whose main objective is spreading awareness about local and regional economic updates and analyses. Danielle is an economist and the founder of D Does Business; an influential blog with more than 42,000 active followers.
Janis Sarraf Tabet who gave shape to hope with her lens after the Beirut port blast with a photo that was published in 2 books and featured in international media. Janis has tenderly placed Beirut’s Miracle Baby Georges between the two syllables of the word Beirut wrapped with the Lebanese flag and linking them together in a sign of hope. Janis is specialised in baby’s artistic photography.
Karine Tawil, an artist whose philosophy is driven by the woman’s capacity for self-expression. An ambassador of the Lebanese creative talent. Karine Tawil founded Karoline Lang International with a flagship store in Avenue Montaigne, Paris. Today, she works from her studio in Beirut, the Middle East’s leading fashion hub.
Maya Chams Ibrahimchah who is the founder of Beit el Baraka which benefits 226,000 people in need. She and her team repaired 3084 units damaged by the Beirut Port blast on August 4.
Seeking to prevent the collapse of the education system in Lebanon, Maya recently launched in partnership with Murex the program “Forsa”, which aims at offering a chance to 32,000 students to continue their education, while keeping 113 schools open. Maya was represented by the director of communications at Beit el Baraka Krystel Riachi.
The general manager of the Hotel Markus Iseli said in a welcome speech: “After two years of complete silence due to a pandemic that brought the world to a standstill and with a local economic crisis and the tragic Beirut port blast, there is serious need to highlight something that would draw smiles. We looked back a little into the beautiful things that happened during the past two years and we discovered lovely stories to tell. We linked the dots and March was our inspiration with 2 important days, Women’s International Day and Mother’s Day. This is how the idea of The Leading Women Annual Award was born and today we are telling five beautiful stories with five inspiring ladies.”
