Perfect for eating quality products on the go, and meeting friends around convivial tapas to share and festive cocktails. |
La Belle Époque is an old cabaret with a 1900s décor modernized by Franck Maillot, a figure of the Parisian nightlife who managed Le Raspoutine, the Queen and the Cab. The entrepreneur, who converted to catering 8 years ago, attracted the unique know-how of chef Mathieu Poirier, who worked at Meurice under the leadership of Yannick Alleno, at the Brasserie de l’Est in Lyon at Monsieur Bocuse, at Lasserre with Christophe Moret, at Pré Catelan with Frédéric Anton, at Royal Monceau with Hans Zanner, and finally, at Divellec with Mathieu Pacaud, who, at only 27 years old, had given him the place of Chef. With the opening of the tapas bar, the restaurant offers simple and tasty dishes in a warm setting. The Chef offers you to share (or not …), on the land side, a hummus with beetroot or even an eggplant caviar for fans of vegetables and on the sea side, fish or trout rillettes from the Pyrenees in gravelax with a cream whipped with Vodka – the Philtre, Frédéric Beigbeder’s vodka. If you prefer cheese, the choice is also varied, mainly from the Beñat cheese factory, located in the French Basque country, in St Jean de Luz. Basque sheep’s cheese, Basque goat cheese or even a 36-month-aged Comté await you for a 100% French tasting. And, finally, for charcuterie fans, all you have to do is choose between a plate of Cecina, Iberian sausage or artisanal Fuet. As captain, barman Miguel Romo Largo offers festive cocktails to sip with friends or a glass of champagne for two. Shaker in hand, black t-shirt and tattooed arms, the bartender distills a menu of twenty recipes. An emblematic place of… the Belle Époque! In 2014, Franck Maillot bought La Belle Époque. This former cabaret will become the scene of a historical revelation. By digging under the tinsel of his stage, concrete, hangings and three layers of carpet, he discovers the sublime mosaics, cement tiles, mirrors … of a 1900 brewery, almost intact! An incredible stroke of fate, a ready-made decor for this restaurant to which he returns his light by opening two bay windows, recreating the place where casseroles and men in slap hats came to feast.
