Zain Group, a leading innovator of mobile telecoms in eight markets across the Middle East and Africa region, is proud to announce that its brand has been selected as the telecom ‘Best Brand’ in 2014 at the prestigious Telecoms World Awards. The accolade was bestowed on Zain Group during a ceremony held in Dubai earlier this week as part of the annual Telecoms World Conference.
The annual Telecoms World Awards recognize outstanding performance in 10 key areas throughout the Middle East telecommunications industry, and the key players that have helped turn it into one of the most dynamic and vibrant in the world.
Zain has been a recipient of this best brand award in the past, but recently its success has been driven by the real changes the company has been driving in people’s lives, and the positivity and goodwill that is generated by the company’s continual investment in network upgrades and technology innovation in enhancing the customer mobile experience and service.
In presenting the Best Brand award to Zain Group the five member judging panel reconfirmed the high-esteem in which the company’s values are held and communicated, commented, “Seven years later after its inspiring launch, Zain has not only created a compelling brand for its products or services, but it has also captured the imagination of the whole region, perfectly reflecting the aspirations and thinking of its customers and the telecom industry at large.”
Acknowledging the accolade, Zain Group CEO Scott Gegenheimer said, “It is a huge honor to receive this award in a year in which Zain has reconfirmed its position, not only as one of the industry’s genuine blue chip names, but also one of the Middle East’s most popular brands.” Gegenheimer continued, “A brand is also a reflection of all the various other components in a company’s actions. Zain has been enjoying an extended period of recognition from various bodies and publications, and in recent times its operations were rewarded with a slew of commendations.
Notably at this year’s Telecom World Awards, Zain Jordan was recognized with two prestigious awards, namely the ‘Best Domestic Growth Strategy’ and for having the ‘Best Operator Network’.
Last year Zain Group was ranked as the top Arab brand across all sectors in a poll undertaken by the Arab Society for Intellectual Property (ASIP). The survey included 200 of the most recognizable Arab trademarks across all Arab countries with over one hundred thousand respondents participating in the questionnaire through ASIP’s website.
Zain Kuwait was recognized as the best telecom operator for 2013 and most recently for 2014 by the region’s leading business publication, ‘Arabian Business’, while Zain Iraq was awarded the Telecom Operator of the Year accolade at the prestigious 2013 Arabian Business Achievement Awards as well as the 2013 CommsMEA awards.
These awards highlight depth and breadth of Zain Group’s pioneering operations, which are helping uplift communities and economies across the region.
