Manchester City Women take on Everton in the FA Cup final later today, a game which can be watched live via FA Player, and the club’s star player Rose Lavelle has thanked fans in the Middle East for their continued support ahead of the big game.
The 50th Women’s FA Cup Final takes place at Wembley with Manchester City aiming to lift the trophy for the second time in succession following their 3-0 win over West Ham United in last year’s showpiece fixture.
Lavelle was part of the USA team which lifted the World Cup in 2019, scoring their second goal in the final, and she now hopes to get her hands on more silverware with Manchester City, the club she joined in August.
“I am massively looking forward to the FA Cup final – the football in England has so much history and tradition to it and on top of the actual game it will be an occasion to remember,” she says.
“I am thankful overall to Manchester City for giving me the chance to keep playing football every day – and although it was always going to be a challenge to adapt, being part of the team is so enjoyable.”
Manchester City have a passionate following in the UAE and wider region, and fans will be able to watch today’s game, which kicks off at 6.30pm (UAE time), via the following link – https://faplayer.thefa.com/home/all
Lavelle is thankful for the support of the fans, and hopes they will tune in to watch the big game.
“We know our sport is growing in popularity all the time and it’s fantastic to know about the support we have from fans in the UAE and the Middle East region.
“In addition the club does so much to promote football to young female players and I hope they will watch the final and become even more inspired.”
