This conference was organized due to the decisions made at its “World Economic Conference” last August in Beirut, where the conferees declared the actual launch of the “Emigrant Fund” project to support Lebanon.
The conferees listed the conference’s resolutions and recommendations during the closing session, with the main ones standing out:
• The launch of the “Emigrant Fund” initiative to assist Lebanon with independent management consisting of specialists in finance and investment management.
• Urging the country’s representatives to take up their duties in accordance with the constitution regarding the presidential vacancy issue.
• Expressing frustration with ongoing violations of the constitution related to the Beirut port blast and requesting an international probe be launched based on the British courts’ condemnation of the Savaro company.
• Warning of the potential failure of the state if an agreement with the IMF is not reached and the duration of the presidential vacancy
continues.
• Ambiguity about the fate of depositors’ money will not restore confidence in Lebanese banks and means the loss of billions of dollars for expatriate investments.
• Pressing for a solution to the issue of Palestinian refugees and displaced Syrians while preserving human dignity and relieving Lebanon’s infrastructure.
• Calls for the implementation of all international resolutions related to Lebanon and for the Lebanese army and security forces to be the only weapons in an independent and fully sovereign country.
• Saluting the national and continental branches and councils of the union for their donations and launching an internal, global organization for coordination and defining unified programs.
• The re-launch of the “Lebolution project” by the President of the International Youth Council, Christina Salami, including a report on the visit program, its costs, and volunteers to support the program, to take place in July of next summer.
The participation of 100% Liban group in the World Lebanese Cultural Union’s extraordinary conference aims to confirm the priority of cooperation with expatriates and convey the reality of the land in Lebanon by working together in this time of crisis and sharing our belief that the country is not bankrupt but needs to work on its economic renaissance in all sectors.
Together we are stronger!
