Beirut, October 10, 2016: During this time of year, Lebanese deprived families face the big challenge of paying school tuition and getting the required supplies for their children. In this regard, Bassma that believes in education as the most powerful weapon, has organized a Back to School distribution day in which school supplies, food packs, clothes, shoes, and toys were distributed on Wednesday, September 28 at Bassma Center, in Badaro. Moreover, Maria Pino have participated in this amazing initiative by offering brand new shoes, along with Malik’s Bookshop that shared 100 school kits.
In fact, the association has always focused on education as it believes that children’s future is highly correlated to their level of education. It is noteworthy that it has succeeded in covering 600 scholarships each year, and has achieved countless success stories during the last 15 years. For instance, many children helped by Bassma have entered universities and graduated. Commenting on the occasion, the President and Founder of Bassma, Mrs. Sandra Klat Abdelnour stated that: “Through Bassma’s education program, Bassma aims at saving children from delinquency and try to turn them into hard-working men and women that can financially help their current families on the mid-term, and build their own family on the long run, so they can raise their own children in dignity”.
Education has become a serious problem in Lebanon; therefore, this respectful association aims at helping deprived families and putting a smile on their faces. It is noteworthy that Bassma’s educational projects include a “Night School” program that provides full academic support and motivates children struggling in their studies in order to reduce and overcome the negative impacts of their difficult surroundings. This program involves a very high budget and your donations can help these children embrace the positive aspects of education.
