Beirut, July 8, 2016: ABC, the leading Lebanese retail and mall developer, revived the famous Villa Mexico in Achrafieh, Philippe Jabre’s property, making it a new home and headquarter for its team. Dating back to 1933, Villa Mexico survived all the transformations and whims of life in the Lebanese capital, from the French mandate, the Lebanese independence as well as the sixties’ golden age reaching the civil war era and all the reconstruction and rehabilitation projects that followed it. The Villa remained, its name engraved in Latin letters on a large stone at its grand entrance, as one of Achrafieh’s most historical landmarks and a true embodiment of artistic Lebanese architecture. Today, the Villa stands more majestic than ever following all the restoration and rehabilitation works done by ABC.
The restoration and rehabilitation project was carried out by Lebanese architect Raëd Abillama from the architectural firm “Raëd Abillama Architects”. ABC Management’s priority was to preserve the Lebanese feel of the Villa and its originally distinctive architecture.
ABC was also determined to introduce a whiff of modernity through the interior design of the Villa. It kept the wide open spaces of the inside galleries and divided them into offices using transparent glass, adding an edge to an already attractive setting. Nevertheless, the Villa was also fully equipped with all the technological and technical devices needed to provide ABC’s team with an inspiring working environment.
ABC is keen to be in the heart of Beirut with a new head office that reflects the unique image and spirit that is attached to its roots and traditions.
