Rebirth Beirut continues to present the best artistic and cultural exhibitions at its cultural headquarters in Gemmayzeh, Beirut. The association is preparing to launch an exhibition entitled “Dollarmes” in collaboration with the three daughters of the artist “Stavro Jabra”.
For the past 40 years, “Stavro” reflected at the time, through his work the events in Lebanon, the Middle East and the world in general. Born in 1947, achieved great success and gained fame through his caricatures that were published in most Lebanese newspapers and reached the world.
The opening will take place on the night of Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 5 to 9 PM; and the exhibition will remain open until November 13th from 5 to 9 PM.
Founder and president of Rebirth Beirut Gaby Fernaine said about the exhibition: “Lebanon has always known many economic crises and today’s crisis is one of them. Our exhibition reflects Stavro’s vision in the eighties and how he portrayed the economic crisis in his artworks which are very similar to our situation currently, and through art we are trying to learn from it and come out stronger”.
Part of the proceeds will go to support Rebirth Beirut’s initiatives which previously included a series of development projects such as the rehabilitation of the traffic lights in the capital, street lighting, road maintenance, all of which contributed to alleviating the suffering of Lebanese people.
